painting plastic models with permanent marker?

I wanted to paint the clear pink parts of my Master Grade Unicorn Gundam a darker red. However, I didn’t have any clear red paints, so I used a red permanent marker. The effect it gave was good, but the paint won’t dry. It’s been a day and when I touch it, it’s still sticky and leaves fingerprints. What can I do to make it dry faster or fix it?

Seconding the suggestion to buy clear paint.

You can also buy some Gundam markers. That’s what I use for painting clear parts.
